“Cathedral (prod. Blended Babies)” - GLC

Blended Babies (last scene on Pabst & Jazz) strike again with some ill production on GLC’s newest drop, Cathedral. The Ism, still signed with G.O.O.D. Music, has been busy in the last year, dropping mixtapes every few months - which means we can only hope that the dude is en route towards a solid second studio album.
Cathedral is my favorite of all GLC the ism releases, mostly because of the BB production - which is always chock full o’ jazz horns smoothed over some heavy beats. The title track above can attest to that. So cop Cathedral (datpiff) and if this is your first nod to Blended Babies, be sure to scope some more of their shit.
Dope ass video for El-P’s “The Full Retard”
He’s a funny looking dude, but Lushlife has his shit straight with his new album Plateau Vision. We’ve seen his unparalleled production skills in the past and he continues to impress on this album, with haunting samples and eerie melodies that somehow work without creeping the listener out entirely.
The opener “Magnolia” uses a harp melody to send you into a dream like state, while the track above hollows you out and refills you with some shaman magic. The rest of the album follows suit and takes you into a dark production based world, with occasional features from Styles P, Shad, and others.
Give Plateau Vision a listen and you’ll get the picture…the dark yet awesome picture.

“Mouthing Off (Kallsen Remix) - P.SO and Fresh Daily

Two of my favorites from last summer, Fresh Daily and P.SO The Earthtone King have put together this treat of a mixtape…err remixtape..titled A Network State of Mind - the Remixtape.
It’s an awesome collab, featuring remixes of both artist’s individual works as well as some joint tracks (like the dopeness streaming above).
So check out this shit and if you dig it, cop Fresh Daily’s latest solo drop The Brooklyn Good Guy and keep an ear out for the Earthtone King’s new stuff (and his upcoming graphic novel, cool stuff).
“The Full Retard” - El-P

One of the illest names in alt hip-hop is finally back with a new drop, Cancer for Cure (released date: May 22, stream: here).
Not only does El-P have an incredibly unique production style - sort of a mix of electronic grunge hip-hop - but he spits like a monster, making science fiction references through it all.
Dude is dope so don’t sleep.
“Aint $hit Change” - Add-2
New track from this guy Add-2. Pay attention, he just dropped Save.Our.Souls. and this comes from an upcoming release by The Hip Hop Project best of Add-2 titled City Of Salvation.
Dude’s going places.

“Breaking My Heart (ft. Bilal and Hollyweerd)” - Mach Five

So I only recently got on the Mach Five train but these dudes are definitely worth lookin’ into. With the latest installment in their Ratchet Shit series, Ratchet Shit Vol. 2 is presented by 2dopeboyz in conjunction with OG Ron C (check the intro and outro on this tape).
I still gotta go back and check out Vol. 1 but for now this tape has made its way on this week’s rotation. The track above features Hollyweerd and one of my favorite dudes making his way in the game, Bilal. If you dig it go peep Vol 1 and cop Vol 2 right here.
